What Is Shorish?

The Shorish is not an organisation. It is a stance. A grassroots movement dedicated to identifying and naming the structural failures that lie beneath surface-level social issues. We do not treat symptoms. We name causes.

The Shorish operates across two interconnected arms: Navisht-e-Shorish — the literary and editorial magazine — and Nauve Baaghi — the ground chapters carrying the movement into cities and communities.

We exist because silence has a cost. Because the distance between knowing and acting is where power lives. We write, organise, and refuse in order to collapse that distance.

The literary magazine is an editorial project of The Shorish — a bimonthly, bilingual publication for prose, poetry, and critical essays that bear witness to social failure. It is not a platform for decoration. It is a record.

Nauve Baaghi

The ground chapters of The Shorish. People who carry the movement into their cities, campuses, and communities through targeted, actionable strategies: awareness campaigns, community events, and direct engagement with structural problems.
